Fiction writing and the creative process

Writing novels is not a linear process. To understand, we need only look at the creativity itself.

Creativity is a subtle and magnificent dance between the rational and the intuitive, between the left and right brain, between technology and imagination. Both partners in this dance are absolutely necessary and are in the same ratio that the imagination is more important than technology, and vice versa means necessary. If you live only in the imagination, youcan never be organized, you will never finish your story. However, if we start from the rational, linear, organizational part of the process (I as the perfect first sentence and paragraph was ? better yet, a profile ?) you will never fall into the rich, passionate cosmic landscape of the imagination where everything is possible.

However, the main problem I writing in my 25 years of teaching fiction've seen over-reliance on the rationalthe equation. People want to get the story and writing it out. (Whatever that means?) The urge to leap frog the process, the words on the page and the story ends. This is symptomatic of the society we live in a goal-oriented company that strives upward to success, you travel deeper, stronger, and changed the lives of origin, who are in the realm of true creative self-expression.

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rationalMind is a faithful servant. We have a society that honors the servant and has created forgotten the gift. "

Albert Einstein
